
Project Experience and Credentials
W. Cary Campbell, P.E. has over 42 years of experience in the electric power industry. He was formerly Principal Engineer of Nuclear and Gas Turbine Performance for the Southern Company where he performed or directed performance testing and monitoring activities at over 10 nuclear, 20 combined cycle, 75 gas turbine units and numerous coal fired units between 1980 - 2012. His responsibilities included the design of test data acquisition equipment, natural gas and primary flow measurements, power metering, performance monitoring and acceptance testing, PEPSE modeling plus consulting and testing services for several external electric utilities.
From 2012 - 2019 Mr. Campbell served as a Senior Consulting Engineer with True North Consulting, LLC.
Since 2020, Mr. Campbell has continued to provide thermal performance services to independent power producers, renewable energy providers and electric utilities as a private consultant doing business as Generating Plant Performane Consultants.
He is a member of the main ASME Performance Test Code committee, vice-chair of the ASME PTC 6 steam turbine test code committee and chair of the ASME PTC 19.6 power metering committee. In 2011 he was awarded the ASME Performance Test Code Medal.

- Lansing Smith, Barry, Daniel, Wansley, Harris, Franklin, McIntosh, Stanton, Rowan, McDonough, Theodore, Chevron, SABIC, Olen Chemical, Kalaeloa, Mejillones, Central Alabama, Dan River, Kyrine, Beaver, Coyote, and Carty Combined Cycle Power Plants.
- Larsen, Intercession City, Greene County, Robins AFB, Mitchell, Dahlberg, SMARR and SOWEGA Gas Turbine Facilities.
